In case you didn’t know, every VA healthcare system has someone designated as an LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator (LGBTQ+ VCC) who can help navigate the process of accessing the VA’s resources for LGBTQ+ veterans.
On Wednesday, LGBT Veteran Care Coordinator in Spokane, Washington Daniel McCrary sends out an email to all veterans to remind them to celebrate “International Pronouns Day.”
“I hope this message finds you well. I am sending this out in my LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator (VCC) capacity. Thank you all for the frontline work you do with veterans every day!” McCrary wrote in the email.
“Today is International Pronouns Day! Proper pronoun use helps foster a welcoming environment and is associated with reductions in negative mental health symptoms,” he added.
McCrary added Hurst and Freeman to the email’s CC list, and both used their pronouns, she/her/hers.
Our source said he did, in fact, receive the email despite not being a part of the LGBT community.
“I’m straight and still received it. It was hospital-wide,” he said.
“If you have questions about pronoun use and gender-affirming care, please do not hesitate to contact me!” said on another email.
McCrary then uses pronouns as his email signature, that includes, they, him, xir, he, theirs, ze, hers, xe, she, her, xim, and them.
“I’m just sick and tired of being subjected to this as a VA employee. They are so deep in leftist politics and propaganda that it’ll make your head spin,” a veteran told The Gateway Pundit.
“The LGBT whatever stuff, the Trans stuff, and now abortions. I’m not just an employee, I’m a Veteran too. So, all this just makes me sick. A Government agency is supposed to be apolitical, but I know I would be fired if I dared push back against these things or say anything remotely conservative. I was almost fired for not getting the “vaccine,” even though I teleworked 22 miles from the VA hospital. The icing on the cake is the VA Secretary didn’t even acknowledge D-Day or the Veterans who fought that day. He sure as hell acknowledges Gay Pride month though,” he added.
It can be recalled that the Department of Veterans Affairs is in the beginning stages of enacting a new policy that will pay for transgender veterans to get sex changes while there are over 38,000 veterans experiencing homelessness in 2022.
Last year, VA Secretary Denis McDonough spoke at a Pride Month event in Florida and said that the agency was “taking the first necessary steps to expand VA’s care to include gender confirmation surgery.”
Paying for the expensive surgeries, McDonough said, will allow “transgender vets to go through the full gender confirmation process with VA at their side.”
In September 2022, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that it would begin offering pregnant veterans and VA beneficiaries access to abortion counseling and, in some situations, abortion services as soon as possible despite it being prohibited under federal law.
“VA will be able to provide access to abortion services when the life or health of the pregnant Veteran would be endangered if the pregnancy were carried to term, or when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest,” VA Secretary Denis McDonough said in an email obtained by The Gateway Pundit to colleagues Friday.
In states where abortion is illegal, this is the first time VA doctors will be able to perform abortions on federal territory, according to Military Times.
“VA employees, when working within the scope of their federal employment, may provide authorized services regardless of state restrictions,” McDonough said.
